Something went wrong with servers and other technical things, so “Supershelter – The Remixes” was delayed by two weeks. But now its finally available in all your favorite download shops… for example on Juno or Beatport.
For those of you that did not make it to the c.sides festival 2009 that took place last February in Tel Aviv, you can grasp on the atmosphere in our vimeo video channel (less videos, better quality) or youtube video channel (more videos, and bad youtube encoding).

“Till Rohlmann est un vétéran. Et comme beaucoup d’activistes dans son genre, l’essentiel de sa carrière s’est passé derrière les platines plutôt que dans un studio. Opérationnel depuis la fin des années 80, il aura survécu à toutes les modes et tendances, demeurant reconnu autant par le public (du moins les spécialistes) que par ses pairs. La parution de ce premier album est donc plutôt une bonne nouvelle si l’on considère que tous ses efforts sur la scène de Cologne, son implication dans un festival israélien et toutes ses réalisations multimédias ont laissé quelques traces indélébiles dans les esprits. Supershelter est assurément l’un des albums de musique électronique sur lequel il faudra compter en cette fin d’année. Entre techno, house, deep et musique répétitive, Rohlmann use ici de tous les outils sonores qui l’ont accompagné pendant à peu près vingt ans. Sans être dans une logique nostalgique ou de recyclage, Rohlmann s’est fendu d’un album bigarré qui fait plus appel aux sens qu’à la raison. Un poil rêveur, Supershelter se développe langoureusement et chaleureusement au fil de mélodies simplifiées mais intelligemment habillées. Supershelter n’est donc pas un album au rabais et encore moins une réponse bafouillée pour satisfaire une demande trop pressante. Si la touche allemande est assez facilement reconnaissable, il est encore moins difficile d’admettre que nous sommes ici dans une esthétique sonore d’un niveau nettement supérieure à la moyenne.
Supershelter est-il donc un grand disque ? Peut-être est-ce prématuré de le dire aujourd’hui. Le penser, sur l’instant, est sans doute une forte tentation mais il ne faut pas se laisser emporter. En effet, si on met Supershelter en perspective avec l’armada des sorties de ces derniers mois, il va de soi qu’il aura fort à faire avec bon nombre de concurrents et se verra même distancé par plus aventureux. Ceci dit, il ne faut pas perdre de vue que Supershelter est un disque aux valeurs inattaquables et que son auteur n’est tout de même pas né de la dernière pluie. S’il serait donc naïf de déployer un tapis rouge devant Rohlmann, il serait tout aussi regrettable de passer à côté d’un album aussi savoureux. Supershelter doit être consommé avec gourmandise à consommer sans passion surdimensionnée. Au fil des écoutes, un juste milieu s’installe, qui laisse apparaître un sentiment plus juste et plus honnête. Rohlmann était surement attendu au tournant. Il ne déçoit pas et est même très convaincant, bien qu’on reste dans la norme. A vrai dire tant que cette norme existera, il n’y aura pas grand-monde pour se plaindre.”

SUPERSHELTER is the internationally celebrated debut album of the multi-dimensional multifariously multitudinously creatively active DJ / producer / artist Glitterbug (Till Rohmann). Supershelter was released as a CD album / digital release together with two 12’’ vinyl excerpts. The last of the Supershelter series, is this digital-only release of Supershelter remixes by Lawrence (Dial Rec.), Barbara Morgenstern (Monika Enterprise) and Glitterbug himself.
The release comes with the explicitly deep, heartwarming groovy Deephouse remix of ‘Brontohouse’ by Dials’ Lawrence (aka Sten). Lawrence captures the passionate mood of Brontohouse and pushes it to new limits, combining the atmosphere the adored Lawrence with the percussion of a Sten track and the unique musical language of Glitterbug to sweep everyone on the dance floor make you fall in love.
Glitterbug adds the latest and final contribution to the Supershelter cosmos, and puts together the finest clubbing skills for an entirely new breathtaking ‘Reference System’- a track that reads from and writes into club history and in its new remix will let the sweat drop to the dance floor.
Barbara Morgenstern reworked the albums ‘Intro’ and added her stirring lyrics and extraordinary voice, piano sweeps, flourishing organs and a chorus to hum to in an unforgettable one woman choir.
